Is Stevens a Financial Services Authority (FSA) approved company?
Yes. Introduced on 14th January 2005, the new FSA rules will change the way customers buy cars and vans in the future. Among the many advantages of the new regime will be clearer information for consumers about general insurance policies. Consumers will be able to compare insurance policies more easily, with clear information on any significant and unusual exclusions, understand the nature and cost of the policy they are buying and have access to the Financial Ombudsman if they have a complaint and to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if firms go out of business. Please contact us for more information or visit www.fsa.gov.uk.
Why do many of our car prices include a Finance Deposit Allowance (FDA)?
At Stevens, we're constantly looking at new ways to ensure our customers always pay the lowest possible price. Sometimes, in addition to our normal discounts off the MRRP, we will also include the FDA saving in the advertised price. The FDA saving is the amount that the Manufacturer or we will pay towards your finance deposit when you choose to finance on certain Finance plans.
Please call us on 0845 500 6056 for more details. Please note that any FDA amount shown cannot normally be used in conjunction with 0% finance offers and the FDA amount varies according to make and model.
Do you take part-exchanges?
Yes. If you are considering part exchanging your current vehicle we are able to provide you with a quote which will be subject to us road testing and viewing your part exchange. Unfortunately, in some cases, we may need to view and road test a vehicle before we can give your part exchange price. For a quote please contact one of our Internet Sales Consultants on 0845 500 6056. If you are Part exchanging your vehicle, due to the new government legislation you must bring us the original V5 registration document and a current MOT certificate (if your vehicle is over 3 years old) together with any service history, book pack, radio code and spare key. It is the customers responsibility to advise Stevens, before a valuation is given, if a part exchange vehicle has been imported, has any damage or if the vehicle has had bodywork repairs.

What is a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) Finance Plan?
A PCP allows you to finance a car but at lower monthly repayments than traditional Hire Purchase or Personal Loan. With traditional methods of purchasing a car your payments are based on having to repay the entire cost of the car equally over the period of the agreement. However with PCP you are able to defer a proportion of the cost of the car as a Final Payment which is payable at the end of the agreement. A Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) is set based on the car's estimated value at the end of the agreement, which will be equal to the Final Payment.
If I'm not financing the vehicle through Stevens, what are the payment methods available?
We accept payment on the day of collection / delivery in the form of Building Society cheque, Bankers draft or debit transfer. If a vehicle is being delivered we will require this at least one working day before delivery. The maximum cash sum that we can accept with prior notification is £3000. The maximum we can accept on Credit Card is £500 (except GM Card). Any amount above this will incur a surcharge of between 1.5% and 3.5%. Private cheques can be accepted but delivery will be delayed until funds have been transferred to us (normally 10 working days). Please make all cheques payable to Stevens.
How is my vehicle taxed?
All we require is to see an original certificate of insurance or cover note with your new registration number on it to tax your car. We also need to see an insurance certificate/cover note before a vehicle can be released as per the 'Duty of Care' legislation. We can provide you with a competitively priced insurance quote today. Our consultants will be happy to discuss any questions relating to this on 0845 500 6056.
